At a time when healthcare workers struggle to find safe, reliable, and empowering gig work, we’ve doubled down on deploying a nurse-first approach that prioritizes flexible schedules, enhanced compliance, and patient-centric care (more on this approach in our latest blog). Significant enhancements to our mobile application strengthen this commitment. New features in our nurse mobile app allow nurses to:

  • Receive and accept home infusion opportunities with greater ease
  • Review comprehensive clinical details for patients
  • Manage their schedules
  • Track upcoming payments for completed visits
  • Access our Learning Management Software (LMS) for upskilling opportunities

These updates weren’t created in a vacuum—they’re the direct result of ongoing feedback from our nurse community, which will continue to drive future updates.

New For Specialty Pharmacies: a Refreshed Portal

Our tech-focused approach also streamlines how specialty pharmacies coordinate and deploy at-home care. These partners send home infusion patient referrals to Float, and we connect these patients with highly qualified nurses who deliver treatments in the comfort of patients’ homes. This approach makes routine medicine 12x cheaper than hospital-based alternatives while improving treatment adherence and reducing hospital admissions.

Today’s announcement includes an updated specialty pharmacy portal, which leverages AI to:

  • Share performance metrics to optimize operations
  • Automate document creation, including patient charts and prescriptions that require doctor sign-off
  • Secure qualified nurses for patient home visits within minutes
  • View comprehensive patient visit schedules
  • Monitor treatment progression in real-time
  • Supply medication based on automated insights

By centralizing all relevant information in one intelligent platform, we’ve eliminated the administrative nightmare of lengthy email chains, redundant communications, and chart bounceback—creating efficiencies that directly improve patient care and pharmacy operations.

Rapid Momentum: More Home Visits, High Nurse Retention, 100+ Partnerships

Last year, we celebrated a $10M Series A funding round and expanded operations in California, Arizona, and Texas.

Now, at the end of Q1 2025, our numbers tell a compelling story:

  • 45,000+ home visits completed: We now complete over 3,000 home visits per month! By Q1 2026, we aim to target 8,000 home visits per month.
  • A retention rate 4x higher than industry average: Float’s 12-month nurse retention rate is now 68%, while the industry average for hospital RNs is 18%. This is thanks to our competitive pay, customizable schedules, and supportive resources.
  • 100+ partnerships with specialty pharmacies: We just inked our 100th partnership! Our customers now include some of the biggest names in specialty medicine, such as Optum, CVS, Option Care, Alliance RX (Walgreens), Kroger, Kabafusion, Soleo Health, NuFactor, Care Fusion, CA Specialty Pharmacy, and most recently, Advanced Infusion Care.

Up Next: Expanding to Florida, Onboarding More Partners

In the next few months, we’re set to expand our operations to Florida—a state facing a projected shortage of approximately 60,000 nurses by 2035. We’re excited to hit the ground running and fill this gap with quality home-based care. More details to come!

Simultaneously, we’re also planning to partner with 20 new specialty pharmacies in Q2 of this year alone, further extending our reach and impact.

In the next few years, we’re committing to expanding to 25 states, providing more than 80% of people with chronic conditions access to quality at-home care and helping pharmacies nationwide retain patients, boost revenue, and access top nursing talent.
